FOOTBALL Monday musings...

lol well maybe they are. But our Hars sucks at getting the squad vaxxed up so far that’s simply a fact. No need to get all hot and bothered about it shouldn’t have any impact on our beloved hoops program regardless.
I’m not worried about Lord Bruce. He has the clout to demand it. I don’t think Jim Harsin has the gravitas to tell the AU Q club to vax or GTFO

It would be a better plan for the university to require the vaccine. That takes responsibility out of Harsin’s hands. Especially now that it’s FDA approved

Most definitely. But he is the HC so he can pretty much do what he wants. We only have 1 player on the entire huthut team worth a flying fug and that’s Tank. So he could demand everyone else get it and we be all done with this BS.

There are several very key players on defense that are in the Tuskegee club. If we lose them, we are going 3-9

So you're saying there's a lower chance of catching covid if you have natural antibodies? Yet the only way to do that is to catch covid. So basically you're bragging that you can avoid catching covid twice when a vaccinated person will clearly only catch it once
Dumb arse…..you do realize people have ALREADY had it….as in, they had it even BEFORE there was a vaccine (a good number of AU’s players). Therefore, (stay with me now), they now have a less chance of getting it the 2nd time……less than deciding to get the vaccine.

Thank you for not cowering to your base here. Great article that reminds me of another recent article I liked.
@Bryan Matthews the comment I have cited is not a positive endorsement of your column. Research and actual facts have proven you can be jabbed and still test positive.

Meh. We probably going 6-6 at best anyway. Most of those guys probably only here 1 more year. But anyway point being we can have like 10 guys that don’t get it and make everyone else get it. We def don’t have more than that worth a fug.

Can we at least beat LSU before we run off 20% of the team

Stump, I will never understand this viewpoint...there is simply no way to know if there will be long term side effects more dangerous than Covid because unlike most other vaccines, there are no long term studies.

Then you don’t know the history of vaccines.

Zero deaths have been linked to the vaccines. Meanwhile 650k+ Americans have died from COVID. It's infinitely more likely that a player has a serious case of COVID than them being the first person to die from the vaccine. Stop spreading nutty anti-vax propaganda.
Not entirely true…..but close

Auburn is is the only program in the country i have seen that can go out and hire a winning coach and have the fans and beat writers turn on him before he even coaches his first game. The schools that are in the playoffs year in and year out, they all support their programs. How about you let the guy lose a single game first. It's ridiculous.

It sucks when you pay 10 bucks a month for unlimited bias confirmation, and some guy has the unmitigated gall to have an opinion that isn’t in lock-step with yours.

It’s the kind of thing that somebody needs to do something about. Amirite?

It is a competitive disadvantage because my politics disagree with the head coach...that is what we are essentially saying here. I am vaccinated because for me it was the right thing to do and I knew certain events I wanted to attend this year were going to require it. I don't regret that decision and I think it is a good thing. But I am sick and tired of reading about this, I am sick and tired of people pushing this because anyone feels differently.

The competitive disadvantage with this team is in Orlando right now...the OL is a competitive disadvantage, the WRs are a competitive disadvantage, the QB position is a competitive disadvantage but we are going to continue to harp on the guy who has a different political affiliation. The only people talking about this are writers...not one coach is sitting in some kids home and saying "Well, did you see the Auburn vax statistics?" Those recruits don't care...they care about what happens on the field and what the school can do for their future.
This is magical. Thank god someone else is a reasonable human being. I 100% agree @MetallicAub

No, it is entirely true. Zero deaths have been linked to the vaccine. You are referring to the number of people who have died after being vaccinated where no link has been established that the vaccine played any role in causing their death. @WarEagleG just did an excellent job of covering this point in another thread where rice cakes was pushing this same anti-vax talking point.

Great article @BryanMatthews Figured this topic might drum up a lot of debate so I was very surprised to see this thread has only now just hit 2 pages.

Link to another situation where a team hired a new coach who made a concerted decision to not put an emphasis on reaching a benchmark set by the SEC that was required to avoid placing his team at a competitive disadvantage before he coached a game? The coaches at schools that are in the playoffs every year, like bama, never allow their teams to be put at a competitive disadvantage.

I don't think @BryanMatthews was trashing Harsin at all. In a very fair and objective manner, he explained why the lack of emphasis on reaching the 85% threshold would place us at a competitive disadvantage. Anyone who is offended by that needs to take a step back and evaluate why their own skewed beliefs would cause them to react hostilely towards someone explaining such an obvious fact to them. The SEC rule regarding the 85% threshold is not being misinterpreted by BMatt or exaggerated. Other teams have managed to meet the threshold and will enjoy relief from the onerous COVID testing and social distancing protocols. If we fail to do so, it is indisputable that we will be at a disadvantage this fall.

Now this is an excellent point. If the University took the full FDA approval as an opportunity to add the COVID vaccine to the list of required vaccinations for all students, it would certainly help all of our coaches reach the SEC vaccination threshold.

there's been at least three deaths related to clots directly after either the JJ or Pfizer vaccine...can't remember which and over 6k deaths that if you were going by the "covid" deaths standard would qualify.
