FOOTBALL Monday musings...

Yes it is a personal choice.

You can chose to be vaccinated or lose yore job.

You can choose to be an anti-vaccine loon and be ostracized by rational people.

You can choose to put yore stubborn misunderstanding of the issue above the well being of the community.

You can choose to be vaccinated or find another place to play football.

And so on.

Personal choices, one and all.
And YOU can acknowledge that there is a less chance of contracting Covid, if you have natural antibodies ( yes, less than a fully vaccinated person).

I'm confused how you can combine Harsin testing positive(with little to no symptoms, which could have happened even if vaccinated) vs the team vaccination rate...and why this is an issue with Akron and Georgia State being the first two games of the season. We could win with the towel bowl coaching both games...what if we don't have an outbreak on the team, what then?
Leadership. You have it or you don't.

Bryan,

To write an article like this you must know a couple of facts that you never shared..

Was Harsin vaccinated?
What is the Auburn football team player's vaccination %

My guess is that you know neither of these factually which makes your article inaccurate & reckless. I dont need to come to a paid site for this, I can just go to al.com
Ole’ “I’m sheltering for 15 months”, Matthew’s……whines about the press box yet again, today on Cameron’s show. But he inadvertently mentioned he didn’t see a single AU basketball game in the arena last year. A “writer for an AU website”, didn’t go to a single game. How pathetic.

Bye. Have fun with your weak ass podcast.
“Weak ass podcast”

The first YouTube video I’ve literally ever done on a damn Tuesday with no chat feature on said podcast got more views than 9 out of the last 13 from this site posted since football camp started. Not even counting the pod downloads

Man... you've been thinking about this all day haven't you?

Auburn creates its own competitive disadvantage, Bruce Pearl doing his thing and livin’ a teenage dream...

MUSINGS
I agree, so can we send all the unvaccinated players over to get the shot, like the day before yesterday? I mean surely they’ve already pushed them to do it over the past few days due to this mess.

Why? Because he most likely caught COVID while engaging with students on campus(while wearing a mask like he was told to do so by the CDC)? .

Also what if most of our players already have natural immunity and because of that chose not to get vaccinated? This one thing is just beyond absurd at this point. Stop making people victims for catching a virus.
That’s not good enough for geniuses like @BryanMatthews who clearly know way more than you and think they are better than you in every single facet of life because you believe in not controlling what other people put into their blood streams. The type of people who think losing 20% of your team is totally understandable.

You said you were quitting the site over the article. What are you still doing here? Please make sure you take @ricedp105 with you.

You realize there are 10 games after that? And that the realities of epidemiology have nothing to do with Auburn’s football schedule?

Some of your "top generals" executed one of the worst military manuevers, in history of the world recently within the last week and a half.
Point is, when a player dies from heart problems, due to being told he has to take a vaccine, when he/they would never have had any problem.............that school and coach will get hammered. But hey, that's fine with you.
AU won't forfeit any football games this year.

Blank stare.

Reckless how? Now expressing an opinion (write or wrong, informed or uninformed) is "reckless"? This is college football nothing more. 99.9999999999% of the people outside of a 20 sq miles radius of Lee County could give a rats rear behind as to what happens with the Auburn football team due to covid............reckless LOL........the drama. How do you know al.com is reckless unless you have patronized it.........? Did it rock your world or our world, al.com's reckless behavior??
You are correct, reckless is incorrect..it was just bad journalism.

Thanks. There was plenty of trepidation in writing this because I knew what the reaction would be but my point all along and I hope I made it clear is that Auburn football is at a competitive disadvantage due to its own inaction, which could be reflected in wins and losses.
Has Saban already tested positive once?
also Saban would cut his nuts off if he thought it would give him a better chance to play for another national title and add to HIS Legendary status. Does that make Harsin a bad coach because he wouldn’t do the same?
Several teams are fully vaccinated and that’s great but don’t think they encouraged this because they love and care for their players any more than other coaches do.

Yea, before the vaccine. Lol

And YOU can acknowledge that there is a less chance of contracting Covid, if you have natural antibodies ( yes, less than a fully vaccinated person).
That is not to the point, and it is not a complete fact. There is some evidence that natural antibodies last longer than the vaccines. There is scant to no evidence that natural antibodies are more effective in reducing the risk of contraction, or in mitigating the symptoms, across the population. And there is mounting evidence that mild cases do not produce meaningful amounts of antibodies.

You have less of a chance of contraction and a greater chance of having mild symptoms if you have natural antibodies AND the vaccine, though. The point of getting vaccinated even if you have antibodies, is to standardize the resistance across the population.

Surrender? Lmao! Yeah let’s go back and forth on a message board for hours knowing neither one of our minds are going to change. Sounds like so much fun. 🙄

I was endorsing the notion of personal choice, which you seemed to also endorse, until you were confronted with the other side of the equation. The one that doesn't fit the agenda you were forwarding.

It's never fun when someone points out that yore position is is nonsensical and not supported by facts.

I know what you were trying to point out. What you don’t know is I agreed with some of it. I totally disagreed with a lot of it. Just didn’t feel like going through all of it. So if you felt like you won, congrats.

What personal health reservations? Anybody that thinks the vaccine is more dangerous than Covid is wrong.
Stump, I will never understand this viewpoint...there is simply no way to know if there will be long term side effects more dangerous than Covid because unlike most other vaccines, there are no long term studies.

Support you 100%! Thanks for not cowering to those that don’t understand the collective responsibility to help each other. We are all in this together. Covid doesn’t care about your political affiliation.

Covid is more dangerous than the vaccine, but suit yourself.

Bro, we’re paying to fund this crap.

Yep. Paying to have writers dog our new coach cause of their feelings. Harsin has more drive in his pinkie finger than any of them. Guy has worked out and read two books on success before most people eat breakfast. Can't wait until this short lived "gotcha" is over...and I hope Harsin remembers this.

Maybe Bryan should go tell the players convinced this is another Tuskegee that they are stupid conspiracy theorists and see how that turns out. If they’ve gone this far, they would transfer over this if you forced them to get it. He’s very brave.

I'm confused

And YOU can acknowledge that there is a less chance of contracting Covid, if you have natural antibodies ( yes, less than a fully vaccinated person).
So you're saying there's a lower chance of catching covid if you have natural antibodies? Yet the only way to do that is to catch covid. So basically you're bragging that you can avoid catching covid twice when a vaccinated person will clearly only catch it once

lol well maybe they are. But our Hars sucks at getting the squad vaxxed up so far that’s simply a fact. No need to get all hot and bothered about it shouldn’t have any impact on our beloved hoops program regardless.
