I mentioned in my last update that our numbers were spiking. We opened our 4th COVID unit yesterday and now have 37 in the hospital. We also had another 3 deaths yesterday. Codes called to the COVID units throughout the day...everyday now. We also had 16 ER holds (waiting on a bed to clear) when I walked in yesterday morning. Hearing similar reports from colleagues in and around Birmingham. I guess my hope that it’s virulence would be decreased with our insanely hot and humid weather was misplaced. It’s very real and spreading quickly. Stay safe bunker.
