Last season the receiving corp was infinitely worse. Cannot be overstated.
OL was just as bad, I honestly think worse in fact. They've sort of marginally improved imo.
Thorne is still Thorne, as was last season.

Yet last season in big games, Auburn scored more points. Montgomery found ways. I really didn't think the hate against him was deserved. Pretty hard to call plays with that receiving corp. They were just horrendously bad. I would've liked to see what he could've done with this corp.

I think he sort of Malzahn-esque… he wants to run his offense, his way. He cares more about style than substance. He is stubborn. He would be totally fine with 7 wins if it meant he could run his offense the way he wants.

Decided to check up on some stats that often affect wins and losses after yet another loss where we held the yardage edge. Here are the results (through last week statswise, although I think the only category we might improve in after today would be turnover margin).

The above stats to me, are representative of a team with a lack of attention to detail and poor coaching in general. I’ve tried to stay quiet about Hugh out of respect for what we’re doing recruiting wise, but this is ugly. The only element that is performing well here being the punting unit. It really begs to question what exactly are we doing in practice to be this poor across the board with the talent we have.

So tired of the constant excuses & apologies.

i used to think this would be a 5-7 year rebuild, but now it’s looking like 10-15 years of rebuilding before we are competitive again.

For the third time this season, Auburn outgained its opponent in a loss. It's a theme that has become irritating for everyone on the team and every fan watching.

"Outgained them again for like the fifth time this year it feels like and don't have anything to show for it because we're just not able to finish."

I’ve never heard a coach who always says in every post game that he is clueless as to what’s going on during the game and he has to go back and watch for him to remember.

We’ve had a frustrating season and have handed a few games away but today is on a different level.
There’s plenty of blame to go around but it begins and ends with the head coach and offensive coaching staff. They should be embarrassed (actually embarrassed isn’t strong enough) by the product they put on the field today.
The formula was demonstrated last week for this team to win. Today, Hunter gains 15 yards on the first play of the game and the 35 on only 11 more touches.
Our staff has to know that our OLine can’t pass pro so how do we plan for that, slow developing long passes of course. We should have run that little swing to Simmons 20 times today or at least until it didn’t gain 8 yards.
When we do get the right play called, we throw a pass 7ft over a wide open receivers head.

Football rarely frustrates me any more and I’ll move on this afternoon and enjoy the rest of my weekend but today’s coaching effort and decision making was a joke. All the way to the end. Why on God’s green earth do you call a TO with 2:01 on the clock when the clock will stop in 0:01 seconds anyway?

Hugh Freeze is our coach. I absolutely want him to be successful. Paying more people millions of dollars not to coach here is a horrible plan. He will not be fired this year but this is on him and he better figure it out before we kick it off next year.

If we keep the recruiting the class together we have to roll with HF another year. Too much $ to for a buyout plus AU as a fan base is sooooo sooo so over-reactionary. We get to high and we get too low. We must for ONCE be patient and stay the course.
