Russ47 and I Would Like To Formally Invite You Good People

To jump on the Abrams Tank Train and join us in supporting the #23 team in the nation 7-0 Army Black Nights! If you want to watch football as it was meant to be in its purest form and enjoy Saturdays again, then now is the time. Hell, even that Trans goat loving team Navy is ranked and undefeated. I know what you're thinking- wait til they play Notre Dame. Well, once we dispatch those little leprechauns, nothing will stop Army from making the playoffs. And, they didnt need any NIL money to buy a team just to lose to Missouri and end up 3-9 or 4-8 or 5-7. A team made up of future heros and patriotic Americans, not well paid prima donnas that only care about themselves and their bank accounts.

@Russ47

Why Does a Coach at AU Deserve Another Year After Going 4-8??

Especially after losing by two scores to freaking Vanderbilt at HOME? Why? Clearly, this guy doesn't have it. Aren't you tired of watching this garbage?? I hated hiring Freeze, and this is WAY worse than I expected it to be. What are we supposed to do??

If we keep him just to keep the recruiting class together, what difference will it make when we have MORE of the same results next year and half those guys bail anyway?

I am sick of this garbage.

Is this job really as difficult as the last three coaches made it look?

I just don't understand. This job should be easy. The money is there, the support is there, the tradition is there.

Why is it so hard?

Why is it so hard to just buy another QB when the one you have isn't very good?

Why is it so hard to hire tough, sumbitchin' position coaches who demand accountability from the players so that you can be the one to baby them? (see Tubs and the BBQ boys)

Why is it so hard to put your team in the best position possible so they can be successful?

Why is clock management so hard?

Why is it so hard to just admit you don't have the talent to run the offense you ultimately envision, so you think it's best to run power more?

Why do you feel the need to slide in the shit-eating comment about how running the ball "bores" you after your team just won its first conference game on the road and your senior RB (who stuck with you) had one of the best performances an Auburn RB has ever had?

Why?

ALL THIS, mind you, at a program that will build a literal god damned statue in your likeness if you average 9 wins a year and break even against Georgia and Alabama.

Mechanics of a coaching search in 2024: Brain Drain call

Forgive me for forgetting the name of the caller who made this point on todays drain, but it is was excellent:

Having a coaching search during the season or even early December is a going to be complicated for big programs.

With the expanded playoff, many coaches will be off limits for far longer than normal. There’s almost no benefit to doing an early firing unless you’re going after someone out of playoff contention.

Some program is going to have to be the guinea pig. Who will it be?

Offensive identity

I listened to the latter part of the drain (chip chip through bmatt). I think they all hit the nail on the head. There is no identity on O. Obviously it's on Hew.

I think he's a pass first/RPO guy and that shit isn't getting it done. Firing your whole staff on O won't mean shit unless you have a strategy on what you want to do. Getting pushed in the running game by 5-6 man front by Vandy....phuck me.

Just an amateur's thoughts. This sucks bad. Resisted piling on Hew but it's on him.
