Saint Louis MBB Covid

What’s wrong with what I said?

Omicron is less deadly than the common cold, fyi. (WRONG)(Many in the US will die but nothing like delta but way more than a cold obviously)

It’s also much more likely to show up in vaccinated persons. (WRONG) (You’re less likely to get omicron if you’re vaccinated.)

Ok, you obviously don’t read. Check out the studies from South Africa and where they are seeing it more. Vaccinated, it’s a fact. Look it up and don’t reply unless you have the evidence. I’ll prove 70% of what you said is wrong in the am. I don’t have access right now. You are going to argue until I give up. I’ll post FACTS and unless you can just quit. And excuse me, for 95% of the population it’s less deadly than the common cold. For 5% it will be worse of those 95%, 50%, will have no symptoms

No, it’s more deadly than a cold for 100%. And lol at SA. I DGAS about an area. That proves nothing. You’re less likely to get it if you’re vaccinated. Are you talking about natural immunity? Please tell me you’re not talking about those never infected or vaccinated. The most protected are the mRNA boosted followed by those infected who got 1-2 shots followed by two shot vaccinated then those jyst with natural immunity. All have some protection. The biggest morons are those not previously infected or vaccinated.

About 850,000 so far. When will we hit 1 million? The spring?
Fake news….they mixed all of the death$ with the flu and other non Chine$e Viru$ ailment$. The day of Biden’$ illegitimate innaguration, cases hit the floor….got narrative? They do! where did the flu go last year? Come on Colombo, it doesn’t take much to solve this clown world tactic. Numbers aren’t even real, it’s all fear porn to push this fascist takeover.

The Dr on here has been over this. Everybody that goes into the hospital and gets tested for multiple things including the flu and Covid. What you’re describing is a worldwide conspiracy involving every hospital in the world. You’re a nut job.

How duz dat werk? If we got 9 vakksinated kidz, do thay git tezzted?
I Kant figure out the cancellations
with Omicron being Vaccinated isn't helping a lot with not getting it, see booker/warren, it helps some with recognizing the virus and ramping up your bodies defense system to kick in and naturally fight it off. Omicron os very close to being as transmissible as the common cold and the symptoms are also close to each other. some virologists believe this is the fizzling out of the virus, which would be amazing.

The vast majority of people getting omicron are those that have been vaccinated. It's just a fact

With the onset of omicron that has meant sleepless nights for many of the scientists.

“I’ve been working to get the Pfizer vaccine efficacy study ready,” said Sigal, who becomes animated when he watches a time-lapse video of the omicron variant attacking cells. “I worked through the night.”

Sigal’s lab has made another important contribution to the country’s ability to monitor changes in the pandemic. When Covid hit, getting supplies across borders became tricky.

The scientists quickly realized they couldn’t get cells in which to culture the virus, so they made their own line from human lung cells that had first been engineered by Sigal while completing his doctorate. This cell line, known as H1299-ACE2, is now being used widely in South Africa in various Covid-19 tests, including omicron.

Omicron hit South Africa first and so far there’s much to be concerned about. The variant appears to be much more transmissible than earlier variants with daily cases hitting a record this week. Still, hospitalizations and deaths, so far, are substantially lower than in previous waves.

While foreign scientists have flooded into South Africa to tackle the diseases that weigh on a country that straddles the first and third worlds, local talent is robust and developing rapidly.

Sandile Cele, a 33-year-old from a small village near Durban, is part of Sigal’s team of seven scientists who culture cells, spin out plasma and wash test plates. In all, the Africa Health Research Institute, founded in 2016, has 550 students, staff and scientists.

cmon stump, I admire your tenacity and enjoy the back and forth but the statistics aren't bearing out that this variant is nearly as deadly and we are much better at treating it, hopefully and I think you would hope this as well that it goes the standard way of viruses and dilutes down to manageable and we live alongside it, its not going away...

It’s a fact that the vaccine makes each person getting it less likely to get Covid.
On Dec. 10, the C.D.C. released a report on the first 43 cases identified in the United States. Only about one-third of those infected with Omicron had traveled internationally in the two weeks before testing positive or developing symptoms. That finding indicated that Omicron was already spreading within the United States from person to person.

The study also offered early hints of how well the variant can overcome vaccination and immunity from previous infections. The majority of people infected with Omicron — 34 individuals — were fully vaccinated when they developed symptoms or tested positive for Covid. Fourteen had received a booster dose as well, while six had previously been infected with the coronavirus.

Only one of the 43 people required hospitalization, and none died. That doesn’t necessary mean that Omicron is mild compared to other variants. For one thing, the sample was too small to be representative. What’s more, young adults under 40 accounted for most of the cases. Older people are at far higher risk of severe Covid. Researchers will get a clearer picture of Omicron’s impact on the United States in the weeks to come.

Should we be worried?
The discovery of Omicron prompted swift responses from governments worldwide. A number of countries banned flights from southern Africa, or — like Israel, Japan and Morocco — barred entry of foreign travelers altogether. On Dec. 9, President Biden further tightened restrictions for international travelers coming to the country.

Many public health experts criticized the move, arguing that Omicron had been around for weeks and had most likely spread to many countries undetected. Once researchers began looking for Omicron around the world, that proved to be true.

Everything in my post was true. I’m not sure what specifically you think is false.

On what you said, we don’t know how severe it is to the uninfected and unvaccinated. We will know once it goes thru areas that have these people.

Also, what treatments for omicron are you referring to? The Pfizer pill isn’t read to go. The Merck pill sucks. The antibodies infusions are short on supply and appears not to work vs omicron.

Dude, catch up. 43 cases!?!?! Lol!!!
