State of college hoops in the state

College hoops in Alabama has to be closest to the best it has ever been. 8 of the 9 D1 programs were/are in legit contention to make the big dance (hopefully I didn’t leave anyone out). Pretty cool to have this many programs contending in a state that’s not thought of as a basketball state.

Auburn-SEC regular season champs, in SEC semis
turds-probably a 2 seed, in SEC semis
UAB-made AAC Championship
USA-tied for Sun Belt regular season title, lost in semis
Troy-tied for Sun Belt regular season title, won tournament
Samford-Tied for 3rd in SoCon, lost in semis
Jacksonville State-tied for 2nd in C-USA regular season, in championship game
UNA-2nd in ASun, lost in championship game
Alabama State-4th in SWAC, in championship game
Alabama A&M-not a good year

Time to adjust Starting line up moving forward

We need to bench Cardwell and save his fouls to at least where he can play some meaningful min in the 2nd half. His lack of offense and now early foul fest is hurting our rotations and substitution patterns.

We’re playing 4 on 5 and this is contributing to our slow offensive production. It would also be wise to start Pettiford over CBM who has become a target for the opposing teams to have someone bang early and often on his thin body.

It’s time to shake things up as this starting five has run its course.
