What did Phil Montgomery do to get fired last season?

HOLD ON ONE SECOND BEFORE GOING NUTS HERE.......I have no issue with PM getting fired last year.

The question is...
Why did Phil not get the chance to find another job first instead of getting axed so quickly?
Hugh obviously doesn't like firing people...Ron Roberts wasn't fired, Tanner Burns isn't fired, Ken Austin is still here and I would argue all three of those guys made larger mistakes in 2023/2024 than Phil.
What was different about Phil?

For those that pray, my Marine friend needs it

I admittedly don’t pray really, but I just got word that my friend I served with is fighting for his life right now. He’s now an ATF agent and was shot in the neck by some low life.

UPDATE:
His spine has been severed, can’t move or feel his legs. Has use of his upper body. Actually in good spirits all things considered, but that’s the kind of guy he is

Happy thots ...

  1. Chaney. Stepped up. Fluid. Played defense without fouling for the most part.
  2. CBM ... has been struggling a bit from distance, laying off a little...was obviously storing it up for today. Our Swiss Army knife. Dude is unstoppable when he's hot.
  3. Haad. So, SOOOOO much better playing downhill. Ball stagnates when he doesn't try to create. Can do it all, still a little bit hoggish at times.
  4. Denvy - Dude. Is. A. Bucket when he wants to be. His defense and HOPS are what shock others, I think.
  5. Kelly. Video and breakdown his shot for kinesiology & biomechanics. Dude is PURE. He's going to explode on someone soon.
  6. Dylan, still Dylan. Man go straight to the damn hole. Yelled that shite at Wiley every time he got it too. Gotta love him tho. Defense and effort are contagious.
  7. Howard. Ki is so athletic...made plays tonight that don't necessarily show up on the stat sheet but really contributed other than scoring.
  8. CMo ... grunted out his minutes, contributed, did the dirty work like he always does. Nice to see him get to score.
  9. Turtle ... weird rotation with Turtle and CMo at the same time but he got in there and defended well. Made the most of his minutes.
  10. JPP. I guess he's more or less done unless something weird happens. Hate it for him, just never got untracked.

Odd game from the perspective of half-court offense. The offense flows better with Denver at point but I really want to see more of our 3 guard with CBM and Chaney.
Might have been our best rim-protection game this year, and we did it without Broome. For a while there it appeared our bigs would lay back out of concern of drawing fouls but once it became evident they were going to get to bang we really were all over them. Denver locked Hubbard until it didn't matter anymore and CBM contained Matthews well.
Vs UGA we're going to need that same energy, and I hope Haad realizes we are really enabled on several fronts when he penetrates. He's the only other offensive player we have that can draw enough defenders to really open up the floor other than JB.
Will take a sustained 40 min to beat UGA at their place without Johni. WDE

One note on the Monmouth game

theyve got a STUD in Abdi Bashir Jr.
