.) cbm stays locked in. he seemed like he was on the fence most of the night with 3 stupid fouls including just shoving a dude out on the baseline in front of the home plate umpire. he wasn’t contributing much and had bad body language. then he had a couple of strong rebounds under 10 and an assist before nailing that triple and it seemed to light a fire. that dude is probably the best pure shooter on the team and contributed in multiple ways if his head is right. my opinion is this team goes as he does. with pettiford emerging as a bit of a steph curry/michael jordan/pete marovich type, having multiple snipers on the outside will let chaney and broome do work inside.
.) not forgetting there is a walking bucket underneath in broome. sometimes it seems they forget going inside is nearly automatic and fog up contested outside shots for stretches before settling back to working inside out. with the shooters this team appears to have, running much of the time through broome will provide immediate open looks when teams double him.
.) keeping everyone happy. i thought this team was talented to begin with, but i think it may be even better than i thought. keeping mouths fed will be BRUCE’s toughest job yet. i think he can do it.
.) this team is deep, but i still think there’s a place for howard and turtle IF they can get it together. those guys can help spell broome and cardwell down the stretch so we don’t put too many unnecessary minutes on them.
also just a note but the lineup with cardwell, dylan, and johnson is absurd on defense.
