I find myself to be a pretty decent cook, and an above average baker, but I can't get rice right.

Without fail, my rice come out as one giant sticky blob. Mushy and stuck together.

I wash it clean before cooking every time. I leave the top on the whole duration. Hell I even bought a damn rice maker and I cant get the rice I want.

Someone, for the love of god, tell me how I am screwing this up so badly.

@BinOBA or anyone else here that cooks some fire rice. Help a brother out

Bruce Pearl very impressive all night on TBS…

and received nice props from Candace Parker and others….Seth Davis even mentioned the hours he spent today working on the transfer portal…

Others here can moan and groan and bitch and cry but I think we’re still lucky to have him and he’s not ready to stop trying to improve this program. When he is he’ll have networks bidding over him because he’s so good on TV.

Hoops roster

Assuming Broome and Cardwell return.... what two positions do we need to address in the portal? Team could actually be better next year depending on how things shake out. Of course if one or both do not stay that opens up a couple more portalers....

Holloway
Donaldson
Pettiford
Howard
Broome
Cardwell
C. Johnson
Jones
CBM
A. Scott
????Do we take a PG
????Replacement for Jaylin?

If AH will hit the weights year 2 of the transition to PG could lead to a breakout season

FOOTBALL Practice notes (3-26-24)

We were able to see approximately 10-15 minutes of practice today.

Here are some notes:

OFFENSE

- QBs were performing average again. Hank missed a few passes. Some receivers were overthrown.

- Walker White has nice touch, but the accuracy is inconsistent.

- Payton Thorne is (spoiler alert) still the best overall.

- Wide receivers were working on route running (I know, breaking stuff)

- Running backs were working on blocking the blitz and some route running.

- Cam Coleman had a nice one-handed catch.

DEFENSE

- D.J. Durkin was working with the linebackers, while Charles Kelly worked mostly with secondary.

- Durkin demands toughness from his players, making sure each rep is done right and with maximum effort.

- Safeties were working on reading the QB and picking it up. Also interceptions.

- Sylvester Smith dropped one. Dropped and did pushups immediately.

- Kaleb Harris had a nice over the shoulder INT.

- Anquon Fegans (2025 safety) was following the safeties.

Thanks it for us. We didn't get to see much.

State of softball from my POV

It was a really good crowd on hand for the game. And it all just seemed lethargic. The team looked like they were just going through the motions to get the game over with, the fans were not in the game at all, and overall it was just not great.

I heard a couple parents say to each other “I really wish this season would be over” or something to that effect. Mickey Dean has lost the support of the parents and possibly the players.

I saw a few heads in hands in the dugout, and student athletes that looked like they would rather be any place but the softball field. For young women recruited to Auburn to play softball, they should love the softball field. But the culture of the program right now has made everything go bland.

You know it’s bad when UTs fans cheers are louder than ours at our own field. The fans are only showing up to either A. Support their kid/relative, B. Are Auburn to the core, or C. Only going because they bought the season tickets (like me).

I really hope we make the right hire this offseason, so we can bring the program back to a place people want to be. Whether it’s players, fans, parents, whatever. It should be an exciting thing to go watch Auburn play softball.

Maddie Penta seems to be the only one putting her heart on the field. She’s still fighting for every call, every pitch, every spot. But because of the lack of depth there’s only so much she can do. And her family knows it. Her mom has put on Facebook her opinion and that spoke volumes to me. The one family that supported Dean, no longer does. And that’s huge.

Last point, it seems like Dean hasn’t worked with Lisenby at all on the “hitching.” She hasn’t gotten better, and he continues to play her instead of giving her time to work on the mental block she has. I thought Elkins did a fine job behind the plate last weekend. Give her the shot she deserves.
