About those WRs we had last year

in case anyone is interested, and $1 to Heather Dinich for seeing and calling it out.

Here are the WRs that left last year.

name/40/H/W/transfer-to

6 ft or less guys:
  • Omari Kelly – 4.46, 6-0, 178 (MTSU)
  • Javarrius Johnson – 4.51, 5-10, 159 (tbd)
  • MJJ – 4.52 6-0 193 (bowling green)
6 ft+ guys:
  • Jyaire Shorter – 4.55 at 6-2, 209 (Memphis)
  • Nick Mardner 4.6 at 6-6, 210
  • Shane Hooks 4.79 at 6-4, 210

This doesn't take into account that none of these guys put up a fight for the ball.

For reference, here's the ones still on scholly:

6 ft or less guys:
  • Jay Fair – 4.39, 5-10, 186
  • Caleb Burton – 4.4, 5-11, 171
6 ft+ guys:
  • Koy Moore – 4.62, 6-1, 198
  • Camden Brown – 4.56, 6-3, 203
Fair and Burton have proper speed for a slot. And they're about the only guys ever getting open last year. The big guys are just not fast.

And for reference, the new guys:

6 ft or less guys:
  • Bryce Cain - 4.39, 5-11, 170
  • Malcolm Simmons - 4.44, 6-0, 175 (edit - fixed his last name)
  • Robert Lewis - 4.45, 5-11, 185

6 ft+ guys:
  • Cam Coleman (4.45, 6-3, 188)
  • Perry Thompson (4.45, 6.3, 210)
And yes, WR is way more than just size/speed. But it does matter.
