Wife and I ordered a Sammy delivery for first time in a while and discussed this.

did not include Publix (know it's popular here) bc I kept it strictly to Sammy chains.

Auburn Street Lights. Literally

So city spent a lot of time and money on Hwy 14 coming in to town and the lights and sidewalks and center of road along with landscaping which Look great. Especially at night. About a good two weeks after in place apparently a vehicle got one of the (not on sidewalk but the ones in the turning lane) lights. Today driving into town there are large pylons and cement barriers in front of the lights.
Today I noticed on university Blvd near Opelika across from Indian Pines has a center area planned for the same I suppose. Heck even had to widen road just in the spot.

I get the aesthetics but this just seems like a bad idea especially considering the speed limits in these areas.
Anyone know why the cement barriers are up on Hwy 14? What is next.

Draft Kings has Bruce as the top target

Bruce Pearl, Auburn

Entering the 2024 NCAA Tournament, Pearl is 214-118 at Auburn. After a few rough years getting the program going, the head coach has turned the Tigers into an absolute powerhouse. Auburn has dominated the SEC behind Pearl’s ability to recruit at a high level and make great adjustments during games. Of course, there are some questionable tactics but that’s a relic of the past with NIL being more prevalent and the transfer portal being more open. Pearl shouldn’t have any trouble re-tooling Kentucky, especially with a boost in resources. He’s had success everywhere he’s gone and the off-court stuff won’t matter as long as he’s winning games. He’s the top choice, with the only question being if he’ll leave Auburn after what he’s built there.

Did losing in the first round actually save our asses?

If Bruce makes this final 4 run instead of Oats I think he's WAY higher up the UK list, but as it stands, Oats got REAL lucky and well....UK may just get him out of our back yard instead of coming after our GOAT coach coming off a fluke loss.

idk yall....I think this has some real "Gods plan" vibes to it....maybe losing in the first round actually did....save our ass.

What is your favorite high calorie, will probably be why you have a heart attack, meal?

Mine is a barbecue baked potato. A local restaurant here serves one that is 2,500 calories, but damn it is so good. Pork, butter, cheese, bacon, chives, and barbecue sauce on the starchiest of foods is something that when I eat it, I feel I should fast for the next two days, but I love it.

Most painful loss in the NCAA Tourney - we're #2!

According to ESPN, our loss to Yale goes down as the 2nd most painful loss in the tourney. Here's what they had to say:

2. Auburn Tigers (No. 4 seed, East)

How they lost:
78-76 to No. 13 seed Yale in the first round

Peak win probability: 94% with 7:30 left, leading 68-58. A 17-4 run gave Yale a 3-point lead, and the Tigers missed 3 FT and 2 FG attempts in the final 10 seconds

How much the loss hurt: Despite being a 4-seed, Auburn was picked to win it all in more than 3% of Tournament Challenge brackets, more than 2-seed Marquette and more than any 3-seed not named Kentucky. Simply put, the SEC tournament champs suffered their worst loss of the season at the worst possible time.
