i expect us to play Thorne the rest of the way

Hugh is probably terrified of losing to LaMo and playing Thorne will almost assure we win that game. A younger QB could have some errors that keeps them in the game. Then i expect bama and A&M to have a gameplan defensively to rattle Thorne early on and Auburn fans will play the hoping game the last three quarters of both of the games. Look we are screwed if we don’t establish the run and Thorne at QB honestly makes stopping the run easy for SEC defenses because you know he isn’t going to hit a deep throw once he is rattled on the first drive. So pack it in and really attack run lanes and Thorne can’t capitalize. Basically 4-8 is guaranteed (or worse) and i won’t be surprised if the class starts to jump. Could be before the ‘25 season starts that we know that Hugh won’t make it here (ok we have a good idea now). Probably early signing day we will know.

I really really miss responsible people being in charge of this program.

Do you remember when it was a 100% certainty that Auburn would look competent on Saturdays? I’m talking about 2000-2007 specifically. Sure, they didn’t win them all, but 75 wins in 8 years was impressive. And even when they lost, you never walked away that disappointed about it. Bad days happen to everyone, and they ALWAYS bounced back with a strong performance.

We had a great staff. Nall, Knox, Ensminger, Price, Gran. These dudes were loyal to a fault and were also outstanding position coaches that demanded accountability. There was no culture council. Those sumbitches were the culture council and they set the pace every single practice.

Looking back, we were so so lucky. Tubs gets a lot of hate nowadays, but he cared tremendously for this program and also the fans of this program. He built a program that every single fan could be proud of.

I miss those days so much, bros.

Get them out of the White House

Shocking that as of today the two choices we have....

Biden/Dumbest person on planet Kamala

Narcisicisst of the century/?

Despite what Trumpy @Stumpfan says... with two old farts heading for nomination, the VP selection could very much move the needle...

FOOTBALL Practice quick notes 11-12 (QB's)...

We were out at practice for about 10 minutes. Here are some observations...

** Payton Thorne was back at practice and running with the first group. We saw him hand off and throw passes down the field with the RB's.

** Hank Brown went second in the rotation and Holden Geriner third.

** Walker White was doing drills with the QB's but back in his green scout-team jersey wearing No. 10 for ULM QB Aidan Armenta.

*****THAT'S ALL*****

Offseason: WNBA Continues to snub Kathy. Fever subtweets WNBA in defense of Kathy

Thank you to @jhead34382 for DM'ing me the links to the latest drama.

The WNBA created what it called "Assist week" to which it identified and posted the 10 best assists of 2024. The only problem was they went out of their way to find an assist better than Kathy's...and pulled the best one from the 2023 season. The internet conspiracy theorist quickly saw the issue and began trolling the petty bitter league, which removed the post.

The Fever, flush with cash, is now subtweeting the poors and bitters around the league

HOOPS Bruce Pearl quick notes (Kent State game)

We are set to speak with Bruce Pearl as No. 5 Auburn hosts Kent State on Wednesday night in Neville Arena.

Follow along and refresh for all updates.

*** Mentions Houston was just one game. A great win, historic based on the rankings of the teams. Gives them a barometer for where they stand right now. Proud of Johni Broome's leadership. Proud of the unselfishness by some guys who didn't score as much as they are used to, but were just as happy after the game.

*** Thought the guys came to practice yesterday hungry. Kent State is picked 3rd in the MAC. Their coach has been beaten Power 5 teams four times during his tenure. They are old, experienced and deep. They are very well coached.

*** For Auburn, it's about if the Tigers can play with the same energy.

*** On Denver's defense: "The art of not fouling and playing great defense is an art. Particularly for Denver, I think he is one of the best defensive guards in the country, and he came here as the leading scorer in C-USA. He's become a great defender, which is going to make him more attractive at the next level.

*** On Pegues: "He doesn't make mistakes. He knows he is on a team where defense is enforced."

*** On Pettiford and what's next after his first big game: "I can't tell you what I've told him to keep his head on straight. I'm happy for him. To be undersized, he's always had to look up at other guys in his class who were bigger and stronger and higher rated. That never bothered Pettiford. He knows he is one of the best freshmen in the country." Great teammate. Wants to be better.

*** Update on Ja'Heim or Jahki: "It was an unfortunate situation and we dealt with it head on. They were both in class and at practice on Monday."

*** On C-Mo: "He stayed right and ready. We had talked to C-Mo a few days earlier just about that, not that I would be the least bit worried about him staying right and ready."

*** On Pettiford again and his last 15 minutes at point guard: "Because he could make special plays and make special reads, and quite frankly with Miles and CBM and Denver at the wing, there aren't enough minutes for him at the wing. We are going to play three point guards. We will." Mentions Ira Bowman deserves credit because he helps with substitutions.

*** Gives strength coach credit. Think the guys are in great shape for November.

*** On CBM and responding in second half after rough first: "it's funny and I remind you guys that they are still young men. CBM is passionate. He was really locked in before the game and then he got those two early fouls. It's been a long hard season and he's ready to get back into it. It took the team and him to get back into it."

That's it for Pearl. Have a great Tuesday!

Only a Few Games but

Holloway is averaging 16.7 mpg and 5.7 ppg. (3 games). Doesn’t look like a good move.

Tre is averaging 29.5 mpg and leads Michigan in scoring at 13 ppg. (2 games). Great move for Tre.

I’m glad both of them transferred because I don’t believe TP would have played nearly as much against Houston if not. I believe he will surpass both of them very soon.
