RIP Peanut & Fred.

Peanut amassed tens of thousands of followers on Instagram, TikTok and other platforms during the seven years since Longo, who runs an animal sanctuary, said he took him in after seeing his mother get hit by a car in New York City.

Peanut’s Instagram account shows the squirrel leaping on to Longo’s shoulder, jumping through a hoop, holding and eating waffles and wearing miniature hats.

“It is with profound sorrow that we share the heartbreaking news: on October 30th, the DEC made the devastating decision to euthanize our beloved Peanut the squirrel and Fred the raccoon. Despite our passionate outcry for compassion, the agency chose to ignore our pleas, leaving us in deep shock and grief,” an Instagram post said Friday, accompanied by a video montage of the animals interacting with their smiling caretakers.

Fleeced from tMB: 'Pub Election thoughts and immigration plans from multi-term US congressman

From tMB:

I am friends with a multi-term US congressman. Tonight we talked at length over a cigar and a couple glasses of whiskey. I have a few tidbits that fit in this thread and a few other tidbits I will share as they might be interesting to a few of you. I am not going to give his name, but I promise you this is all true and from an hour ago.

Election Stuff:

1. The R party thinks the Senate is a lock and they will win 51-53 seats.
2. They think the Senate race in Maryland is up for grabs and feel good about maybe sneaking that one out.
3. They think the House will be close. They have 203 seats they think are locks with 40 races toss ups. 13 of those 40 races are currently held by an R.
4. The Presidential election they feel good about, but it is far from a lock he said. It really just depends on which side has the enthusiasm gap to get people to turn out election day.
5. They think New Hampshire is in play with 45% or better odds.

Other stuff (Mostly under the assumption Trump wins and they possibly control all three branches):
1. They talk of mass deportation if Trump takes over, but realize that will hard if not impossible to pull off. The focus will be on drying up the freebies. No more welfare cards, free phones, free rent, free plane rides etc. Take away the free stuff and many will leave on their own.
2. Remain in Mexico will return
3. They will go after chain migration.
4. They will end all direct flights for illegals from Haiti, Cuba etc.
5. Some countries in South Ameria are saying they will refuse to take their citizens back from the US that came here illegally. They will threaten them with ending all foriegn aid to that country in the future if they do not take their own citizens back.
6. They are going to massively try and cut spending. Musk is saying he wants a 2T per year cut. He is not sure that is the number, but it will be big.
7. They realize some states like CA will try and offer illegals all the free stuff the US government will take away. They are actually hoping for this. Smile as the blue states take all of the illegals they want to take and dry up the freebies on the rest of them and encourage them to leave.
8. They will build a wall.

If I think of more later I will add them. We also discussed fantasy football and normal guy stuff like that, but I thought some of the political stuff would be of interest to a few of you and does partially fit into this thread. It was not worth starting a new thread over, so I am dropping it here.

Fulton County, GA at it again

Georgia drop offs ended yesterday but Fulton county decided to disregard the law and stay open this weekend. All poll watchers were ban from the site.

Lib judge rolled they could stay open but apparently we did get poll watchers allowed inside.

I'm sure Trump's team will move this one up the ladder on appeal.

Or get some red counties to open tomorrow and Monday

Joe Rogan formallly endorses Trump.

Look @Stumpfan, Bernie to Trump!

Can't get mad at people for recognizing that the democratic party is a radicalized version of their 2010 platform.

Some mindless idiots, like you and the inexperienced, like college kids followed right along with them.

Come join us over on the same side. There is room for you.

Reality

Hugh inherited a bottom of the barrel team in terms of SEC talent and a bunch of Gus/Harsin undisciplined players. People that matter think he is a good football coach and knows what he is doing. The attitude of the extreme fans and important people could not be more opposite. I don't think everyone is super rosy at the moment about how this season played out, but they are going to give him time.

Some eyebrows have been raised at some comments/decisions (Ex: TO @ 2:01) and no one is making excuses for the man, but this team, especially O (some coaches included), is broken psychologically. Like JGT said, there is nothing anyone can do at this point except sit in this poopy diaper for 4 more weeks. Imagine you make a grave mistake at work (not taking a QB) and you still are paying the price for it every single day in a big way a year later and you know there is nothing you can do other than to limit embarrassment.

The $ is there for a portal QB. If there is not progress next year, wheels may start to turn, but no one is even considering a head coaching change at the moment.

HF in 2025 being directly on the Hot Seat needs to do the following...

to keep his job.

1) Find a homerun portal QB to be the day one starter
2) Find a back up portal QB to be good enough to win games if homerun portal QB gets hurt
3) Keep together an excellent recruiting class coming off a likely 4-8 season
4) Stave off any significant player transfers on the current roster coming off a likely 4-8 season (transfers are going to happen, some matter more than others)
5) Hire a new OC assuming Nix goes to Southern Miss coming off a 4-8 season with the HC directly on the Hot Seat
6) Mesh new OC with players, staff and HF in 9 months
7) Win 8+ games in 2025
8) Win at least one game of significance in 2025

This is a long list but IMO all of these things need to happen for Auburn to be successful in 2025.
Again...HF will be the guy in 2025 but with limited good will built up in the fan base, he has to thread a needle in 2025 in order to return in 2026 IMO.

Houston Nutt was guest speaker @ the GSQBC reception last night….. pretty entertaining guy

That’s the Gulf Shores QB Club BTW

Nothing earth shattering but did say Saban reached out to him when Nutt was fired @ole sis. Also mentioned Saban decided to retire after having a star player ask bama to match a NIL while in the locker room after the playoff loss to meechiggan. Ole 73 thinks that’s common knowledge on here but still found it interesting

TIA
