Here are some quick updates. We'll have a story later this weekend.
** Tannon Snow is out with an illness. Clint Myers was unsure if she would be able to travel to Mexico for Tournament. She's not expected to play regardless. They're leaving Wednesday. Kendall Veach, who has been hitting very well during preseason practice, will start at first base.
** The infield is basically set with the exception of second base. It's still close between sophomore Casey McCrackin and freshman KK Crocker. McCrackin was with the starters Friday, Crocker today.
** Vic Draper and Whitney Jordan will start in the outfield. The third starter could be junior Madi Gipson, freshman Carmyn Greenwood or sophomore Morgan Podany.
** Kasey Cooper took Makayla Martin over the right-centerfield wall during the scrimmage.
** Myers said both Martin and Kaylee Carlson have improved since last season. Both are hitting their spots better and getting more movement on their pitches. Martin has added a more effective changeup.
