NCAA tournament tickets for season ticket holders

Long-time lurker, never poster here.

Disclaimer (to avoid the jinx): I know I am getting ahead of myself with this line of questioning, but just trying to make some plans to attend the tournament. I know there is a long season ahead and our advancement or even inclusion in the tournament is not guaranteed.

I'm an Auburn season ticket holder and I'm hoping to get some advice on how to best secure tickets to the NCAA Tournament this year, in case Auburn advances to the Sweet 16 and Elite 8.

My Situation:
  • I'm free the weekend of the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 and am willing to travel to see the games if Auburn makes it that far.
  • I understand that buying tickets last-minute will be difficult and likely expensive.
  • I'm hoping to leverage my season ticket holder status to potentially obtain tickets through the Auburn ticket office.
My Questions:
  • Can any season ticket holders share their experiences with obtaining NCAA Tournament tickets through the university in the past? Were there any specific procedures or priority levels?
  • Are there any specific tips or strategies you would recommend for increasing my chances of securing tickets?

Mississippi State Thoughts

This will be much shorter than usual. Bruce and this staff are absolute wizards at correcting issues and, more importantly, motivation. We were so locked in defensively. Stayed in front, stayed on the floor and the result was a bunch of contested jumpers and blocked shots. It looked like Chaney and Dylan were consciously avoiding hacking at the ball tonight. Offensively, we shoot the shit out of the ball at home. The ball also moves a little faster without Johni. My only real knock on him is that he doesn't do anything quickly, but tonight the ball snapped around the floor. Great win!
