Just want to highlight some very level headed posts the last few days, press back if you don't want to read a text wall:
@chip chip on Hugh's demeanor:
"(Hugh) knows he effed up royally with trusting Thorne and not getting a portal QB. He knows there is nothing he can do to run an effective offense the way he wants to. He knows he doesn't have the talent elsewhere on the field and is just resigned to accept what he has.
Chewing ass isn't going to change anything with the dead weight OLs or make Thorne not suck. There is nothing to say to your best players like Hunter, KLS, Simmons and Coleman. Coming in too hot doesn't get you anywhere with the players that will matter moving forward, or get more out of your bums.
The best you can do is put them in a position with the least likelihood of failure, and watch, in frustration, as they predictably fail anyway. You appreciate the effort they bring in practice and games and know they are doing their best, but are not good enough. You know they are pissing away all the goodwill/honeymoon you have with the fans as you work 20 hours a day to recruit and bring in better players and keep the valuable pieces on your roster from leaving.
He is tired and helpless at this point. Just try to get through this season without absolutely losing your sh!t on someone(s). Except the ST coach. Fire that MFer immediately."
@DufnersLip on the path forward:
"Got nothing on Hugh other than there is no possible way he is not our coach next year unless something weird happens and he decides not to be, not the other way around.
He is gonna have to explain to some people what happened and why it won’t happen again, though.
My opinion is that he is here after next year too unless he goes 6-6 or worse in embarrassing fashion. If the multi million dollar QB gets hurt and we go 6-6 or 7-5 with a bunch of very close losses (or something like that), he will be back again."
@cookedw on how we lose close games we should win:
"Because you stall inside the 40 and start multiple drives inside your own.
You have a QB that may be your best chance of not getting blown out but will do nothing to help you win.
And yet again, you constantly get the worst timed penalties called on you.
Oh, and you are unable to successfully lock a FG"
@Jay G. Tate on the present and future:
"Just focus on basketball, let Hugh and his staff sign this outstanding class, give him the resources to fix the QB problem and let's get going for 2025. If the 2025 season is a disaster, then you start plotting a new course. We can't abandon ship every ****ing time the seas get rough. You just can't. You can't do that in college football and you can't do that in life."
@crococile22 thread of Youtube video also shows me that Hugh hasn't "lost it" like a lot of the Bunker seems to think:
https://auburn.forums.rivals.com/threads/should-hugh-freeze-be-fired.1262763/
This was in a text through the eyes of a high level highschool football coach and Bunker member (will keep him anonymous), on why Jarquez only got 12 touches:
"He sucked today. Didn't see holes, wasn't patient at all. Sucked in the pass game."
From @Gh0st about why Hugh is still playing Thorne:
"Sometimes the best option is terrible and it’s still the best option."
