As most of you know, Mickey Dean is out as head coach at season's end.

So who will be the Tigers' next head coach? That hasn't yet been decided, of course, but we're starting to get a feel for what John Cohen wants to do here.

a.) He doesn't want to spend much money on a buyout.
therefore b = He's likely to target a Power 5 assistant, a Power 5 head coach with a small buyout or a Group of 5 head coach

Here are three coaches who fit that construct and who have strong reputations:

Marissa Young, head coach at Duke University
• The Blue Devils are 136-29 overall and 58-12 in conference play during the past three seasons. She coached at North Carolina before starting the Duke program in 2018.

Rodney DeLong, head coach at North Texas
• The Mean Green are 102-58 overall and 50-22 in conference play during the past three seasons. He previously worked at Georgia Tech.

J.T. D'Amico, assistant coach at Georgia
• Georgia is in the midst of a striking resurgence — and currently is 37-13. D'Amico is in his third season with the Bulldogs, but spent the 13 years before that working with his (now) ex-wife at Washington. With the Huskies, D'Amico was in charge of recruiting and defense.
