There are so many to choose from, it's hard to narrow down. Here's what stands out immediately:
1983: The 6-0-1 Gators traveled to Jordan-Hare. The game featured an astounding level of talent, with something like 50 future NFL players all told. Auburn ran for 300-plus yards and Bo provided two of his best long touchdowns after being ill with the flu the previous night. Add in Florida's comeback from a two-touchdown deficit, plus a vital goal line stand in the fourth quarter and it's got most everything you'd like to see.
1988: Auburn traveled to Gainesville and smothered a 5-2 Gator team who lacked the services of Emmitt Smith. Tracy Rocker and company held Florida to 13 yards rushing, 116 yards overall with 7 first downs and 3 turnovers. If you like defense, it was a thing of beauty.
1989: We all know about this one. Reggie Slack scored on a last-minute, fourth-down pass to Shayne Wasden. Emmitt Smith knelt and cried on the sideline, knowing he would never beat Auburn.
1993: Auburn preserves their undefeated season by besting Coach Steve Spurrier's Gators in a 38 – 35 nailbiter where the raucous Jordan-Hare crowd was every bit as important Auburn's turnover-gobbling defense.
1994: Nix to Sanders. This has been covered ad infinitum this week.
There's other good ones – the 2001 and 2007 renditions were won on last-second FGs – but the aforementioned leap to mind when I think of the series.
