having Dave Aranda as HC, and him pull this year what he did at Baylor. He is a top favorite if possible. Yet, he went 2-10 last year, his first year, after the previous coach went 11-2 the previous year. In the easy ass Big 12 no less.
Can you you imagine him, or Harsin, going 2-10 at AU and STILL being the HC the next year?? This place would go ape shit. Yet now Aranda is a damn top HC.
It takes a year or two to completely make a 180 in the "culture" of a football program. Aranda ran off a bunch of players who didn't buy in after year one. Now he has it rolling.
I'm as disappointed as anyone about Harsin this season. I also realize it will take some time to turn this program around. Especially in the SEC.
IMO, he needs two new younger coordinators that KNOW the new schemes and play aggressively. Then hire 3 more "elite" recruiting position coaches. On top of that, there are an unnerving amount of upper classmen that are not "buying in" to Harsin's philosophy. Like at all. They need to be removed asap.
Only chance we have.
