I think we all have one, except maybe Jay G., who is too well-adjusted to be crazy.

Like my favorite team, I have an inferiority complex. My parents divorced when I was very little, and while they both remained present in my life after that, having to constantly go back and forth between two houses always left me feeling unsettled.

What made it trickier is that both parents wanted very badly to be good parents, probably in part to compensate for the fact that they were divorced. So both parents had completely different ways of doing things: i.e. what was acceptable at one home was not acceptable at the other. Nothing I did ever seemed quite good enough for either of them.

To this day, I attribute what success I have found in life to my fear of failure and letting my parents down.

How about y’all?
