We’ve had 5 games against top 10 teams and every game could have gone either way. I know this board has a wide range of opinions on Gus, but can we try to be objective here? We are right there with the elite teams in the country. We have been about as successful against Bama as any team in the country. Gus runs a clean program and his players never give up and love playing for him. He shows flashes, like the end of the game, of being very prepared and cerebral. He also has patterns of predictability and stubbornness. But with all that said, what could Auburn accomplish if the fan base didn’t keep stirring up rumors of coaching changes that are used against us every year in recruiting and, along with the PTB, all pulled in the same direction? During the post-game celebration, some of the fans were talking about this very subject. We are so often our own worst enemy.
