My girl has an iPhone, but I do not allow Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok etc......all these inappropriate platforms for my daughter to be engaged in. She is 14, and needs to communicate with us as parents for school logistics etc...but apparently I'm the mean dad who will not allow her to have access to those apps. I caught her adding Snapchat without my approval and she said she was pressured into it and that's how everyone at school communicates. I'm strongly considering taking her phone away for a flip phone because those damn things can be so inappropriate.
There are a ton of parents that allow such freedom. Why do you give them access to a communication platform that you'll never ever see (like sexting and inappropriate pictures)? Is there a way to police these apps that these other parents do that I'm missing?
