Catcher Carlee Wallace has been named the SEC's Player of the Week.
The junior catcher paced the Tigers last weekend with a .538 batting average. That tally included seven hits — three went for extra bases — during the Tigers' first-ever sweep at Georgia.
The Alpine, Calif. native reached base in nine of 15 plate appearances and was a perfect 4-for-4 when leading off an inning over the three-game week.
Wallace successfully advanced runners at a .571 clip and touted a 1.000 slugging percentage. She nearly hit for the cycle in Auburn’s 13-4 win Saturday, smashing a home run, triple and single in the rout.
The junior has reached base safely in 18 of the last 20 contests, including 12 of the previous 13 games.
