This past year, there was multiple wood fiber mills that announced their decision to shut down. About a week ago, Georgia Pacific mill in cedar springs Georgia announced they will shut down in August. Since that announcement, there has been roughly 30 logging crews who plan to hang it up. Hundreds of jobs lost from the mill closing. This is going to have a negative impact on every timber industry within a 300-mile radius of Cedar Springs Ga. I am very thankful I am in a good location/still have a job, but it's about to get a little rough. Hold on to your butts. History has shown once a mill closes down that entire market is gone for good. Nobody can peddle around with the payments they have to make on their equipment. People move away and don't come back. I'm praying for rural America right now and you should too.
