How did he think this career move, to leave an HC role, would turn out? There is no way they'll be as good next year with all the talent departing. First year struggles at a top program usually turn into firing 1st yr. coordinators. Seems like a new HC has to do this like a lizard releasing his tail to survive. Then where will he go? Back to the musical chairs of college coaching? Just seems like he was on an upward trajectory at a decent program, good place to raise a family, and left to be a coordinator for the same pay. Maybe he's a monster in recruiting but I doubt it.
This is all based on Deboer struggling and maybe they do just fine. I'm not wishing for Kane to get fired. But with the roster changes and average recruiting, I got money someone is getting canned before Christmas. I just feel like I can see his fate already. Maybe I'm out in left field on this one.
