There seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding of who we are as a program

Auburn is a top 15 program of all time. Is Gus Malzahn a top 15 coach in the country? Absolutely, regardless of whether or not we are overpaying him.

WE HAVE NEVER EVER HAD BACK TO BACK 10 WIN SEASONS IN THE HISTORY OF OUR PROGRAM.

And you guys think we are going to go pluck a top 3 coach in the country from somewhere?

This is exactly who we are and exactly what we have always been. Win some games you shouldn’t, lose some games you shouldn’t, and surprise some people every few years. That is Gus Malzahn and that is who Auburn Football has been since the beginning of time.

You can think yesterday is inexcusable (It is) with all of our talent, resources, and what we are paying Gus but at the end of the day this is who we have always been.

Everyone wanting to fire Gus - Cool, but understand we don’t hire big name coaches and wanting to replace him with their guy. We are restricted to up and comers and hope we catch lightning in a bottle.

We’ve got a lot of issues, some legit, and some overblown, but the biggest is that we can’t ever get out of our own way regardless who the coach has been.

That’s not a Gus problem, that’s an Auburn problem.
