Recruiting won't get better until Auburn proves it's not a toxic dumpster fire.

In order to do that, Auburn must win. The recruits aren't stupid and neither are opposing coaches. At this point, it doesn't matter if these kids like Harsin or not. Even if they do, they're being told constantly by everyone around them that he won't be here much longer anyway.

The only way to quiet that noise is to win THIS year. And there is a grand opportunity in week 3 to build some major hype and momentum going forward.

Auburn HAS to beat Penn State at home.

Harsin will not see year 3 if Auburn doesn't beat Penn State at home.

If Auburn can embarrass Penn State at home, it could be the start of a major recruiting turnaround. Penn State is a major brand with an average team that will have to play in a very hostile environment. Beating State 38-13 in an electric environment would quiet the critics a little bit and give the team some major momentum going into conference play. From there, they could easily finish 9-3 in the regular season, finish in the top 25, show marked improvement from last year, and show the rest of the country that Harsin / Auburn is a legitimate program that's building something special.

Auburn HAS to beat Penn State. If they don't, the whole experiment is over.
