So the Tigers finished out their appearance in Clearwater, Fla., with another clubbing of an inferior opponent.

(To be fair, about 95% of all Division I softball teams are inferior to Auburn at this point.)

The Tigers finished with 23 hits, including nine for extra bases, in a mercy-rule win against the Rams. Outfielder Madi Gipson led the way by going 3-for-3 with four RBIs while third baseman Kasey Cooper also went 3-for-3 and drove in three runs.

Whitney Jordan and Casey McCrackin hit one home run apiece and combined for six RBIs.

In all, eight Auburn players finished with at least two hits Sunday.

Freshman pitcher Makayla Martin allowed one run in three innings of work and picked up her third victory of the season. Sophomore Kaylee Carlson worked the final two innings and didn't allow a base runner.

Auburn (10-1) resumes play Thursday afternoon at home against Boston College.
