Today is the final day coaches can visit recruits off campus before the dead period begins. Auburn coach Gus Malzahn will be on the road/in the air making several final stops.

* Recruits Malzahn is scheduled to make an in-home visit with today:
- QB Lowell Narcisse, St. James, La.
- TE Tre' McKitty, Bradenton, Fla.
- OC Cesar Ruiz, Bradenton, Fla.
- OT Alex Leatherwood, Pensacola, Fla.

* Recruits that Auburn assistants are scheduled to visit today:
(list will be updated)
- DB CJ Avery, Grenada, Miss.
- OT Calvin Ashley, Washington, D.C.
- LB Monty Rice, Madison, Ala.

* James Clemens linebacker Monty Rice visited Auburn Thursday-Friday before traveling to UGA for an official visit. Rice, who is an early enrollee, is scheduled to announce his commitment on Monday. Auburn doesn't seem to have a good read on Rice, so there isn't a lot of optimism surrounding his announcement.

* Auburn appears to be slowing down its recruitment of McKitty, the tight end from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. Malzahn is scheduled to visit McKitty today, but that visit might not happen (UPDATE - AU did not visit McKitty).

* Auburn has honed in on Sal Cannella, the junior college tight end who visited Thursday-Saturday. Cannella will leave Texas today and have a decision before signing on Wednesday.

* Wesley McGriff is scheduled to make an in-home visit with Grenada (Miss.) safety CJ Avery. The three-star recruit is set to announce his decision Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. CT. Auburn and Louisville continue to be Avery's top two. There has been a buzz lately about Louisville, but not enough to make me think Avery chooses the Cardinals over the Tigers. Not yet.

OFFICIAL VISITORS

* ATH Octavius Matthews:
- Matthews has left his official visit to Auburn. He was joined on the visit by his uncle and cousin. The three arrived Friday afternoon and left Sunday morning.
- Matthews spoke to Tim Horton about how Auburn plans to use him in the offense.
"He said running back, but also that he'd line me up in the slot and get me the ball in space with reverses and screens," Matthews said.
- Matthews no longer will be a mid-year transfer. He'll have to finish the year at Itawamba before moving to Auburn in the summer.
- Matthews continues to be recruited by both Louisville and Western Kentucky. He's considering taking a visit to each in January, but said he remains solid to Auburn.

* LB Chandler Wooten:
- Wooten and his parents left Auburn earlier this morning. The linebacker was excited to hear the news Saturday evening that Jarrett Stidham committed. He was with the Auburn coaches at the time (athletic banquet) and said they all were ecstatic.
- Wooten doesn't plan to take anymore visits. He'll play in the Under-Armour All-America Game and then move to Auburn on Jan. 8.
- Wooten's roommate at Auburn will be offensive lineman Nick Brahms.

* RB Devan Barrett:
- Barrett and his parents left Auburn Sunday morning. The running back's player host was former teammate Nate Craig-Myers.
- Barrett is confident in his decision to sign with Auburn, but is scheduled to take three official visits in January: Indiana, Clemson and Tennessee.
