I’m not saying he is going to retire after this season, but I wouldn’t be shocked if he did.

I think the writing is on the wall for him that:

A) Stidham will be back, and having a pro-quality QB is a difference maker for Auburn and Gus.

B) Hurts is not a pro QB and has regressed with passing and decision-making without Kiffin. (That pass he threw in the End zone that got tipped and almost caught was a true Freshman mistake.). So, 2018 could be a Tua/ Hurts transition year.

C) Auburn will be a handful next year and may do the same thing on their home field.

If you are 66, do you want to risk hearing people say after your second IB loss in two years that the “game has passed you by?” You know the mouth-breathers will turn on him in a heartbeat if Gus goes in there next year and drops another beat down on their home turf.

I am not saying it will happen, but I wouldn’t be shocked if he quit one day after NSD this year...
