I'd love to hear from @hunter48 @jhead34382 @Jay G. Tate about your thoughts on why this team got worse this year than last year at taking advantage of opportunities in the scoring zone. Was it poor execution, poor play design, poor offensive line development, not having a kicker???? What would you point to that is correctable in the off-season? I've been extremely disappointed with our o-line play and development at that position. We don't seem to run block well enough and once again were too porous in throwing game protections.
I believe we averaged over 6 yards per play against Bama - the highest since 2014 in an Iron Bowl, and 5 or 6 trips inside the 40 and 1 TD to show for it. Early in the year I thought if we cleaned things up and eliminated turnovers we'd be a fine team. We did that and still found ways to lose against OU, Mizzou, Vandy...teams with similar or worse talent than AU...maddening.
