Thought I would compile this going into tonight's decision from DE/OLB Jared Smith...
Rivals determines its recruiting rankings from the top 20 prospects in each class. Here's a LINK to the rankings formula. Right now, AU has 21 commitments so punter John McGuire is not counting toward the rankings. If Smith chooses Auburn, he's worth 151 points, but AU will lose the 75 points from Spencer Dowland so it will be a net gain of 76 points.
Auburn is currently 7th with 2354 points in the Rivals rankings. The +76 would move AU up to 2430 points, which would be good for 5th in the current standings.
Here's the point totals for the five players I currently have on commit watch...

If, and it's still a pretty big IF because recruiting, AU was able to land all five currently on my list, it would be a net gain of 323 points, which would give AU 2677 points, which would currently 2nd nationally.
