** Really good practices lately. Had some bright spots on offense in scrimmage but didn't perform to the standards they expect. Looking forward to next scrimmage.
** All three RB's did some things well and some things not so well. Roc Thomas had some good runs but needs to be willing to take the 5-6 yard runs and not always try to hit the home run. Running sideways too much.
** Jovon Robinson did some nice things for his first scrimmage. Things starting to slow down for him. Not a lot of busts.
** All three RB's are willing to block. No busts in protections. Wants them to sustain blocks longer.
** Saw some promising things from Austin Golson in scrimmage. Made some adjustments. Xavier Dampeer is having a good spring. Both focusing on center. Have moved guys around on OL much this spring.
** QB's have responded well. Jeremy Johnson and Sean White competing well. Tyler Queen has done some good things and did a good job in scrimmage. Kind of a tradition that QB's go live in first scrimmage.
** Wants Johnson and White to take next step from steady to great. Need more TD's from them and offense. Both graded fine in scrimmage, no missed assignments, two poor throws each, but Lashlee wants more. "We want guys that are going to win the football game." Got to get to a championship level.
** No one has earned a spot yet at any position including QB.
** Jeremy Johnson is capable of being a 1,000-yard rusher. He told a reporter Saturday his goal was to pass for 3,000 and rush for 1,000 this season.
** Wants to call at least eight long pass plays a game this season. "The vertical ball is part of what we do and that's not going to change."
** The H-back position has been a big bright spot with Kamryn Pettway and Chandler Cox. Pettway a little ahead physically because he's had a year of college. "I'm really pleased with both those guys and both will help us this year."
** Tony Stevens is still not where he needs to be. Showing flashes. Knows offense better and can move around to different WR positions, which is a plus.
