Question for statistics/mathematics minded people

Given three criterion and your choice of twelve predictors to make assumptions regarding a data set, would you develop three separate regression models and compare the predictor’s beta weights across regression models? The only alternative, I can see is to include the three criterion variables in one model. Personally I would approach the issue with exploratory factor analysis, but that is not an option given the analysis software available to me at this time.
