I was glued to the offense today while BMatt hovered around the defense. Here are our observations from the second open practice window -- and the first day in full pads -- of fall camp. Today was about 25 minutes compared to 40 minutes Friday. No full team drills or anything like that.

Orange jerseys: DT Coynis Miller, MLB KJ Britt, DB Jordyn Peters, TE Luke Deal, RB DJ Williams, WR James Owens Moss

** Britt still worked with the defense, barking out plays, but he was held out of all contact. He was also wearing sunglasses, which may signal a concussion or head injury.

** Miller, Prince Michael Sammons and Daquan Newkirk worked off to the side when the rest of the team went to the outdoor field. Mostly stretching. Newkirk and Sammons were still in street clothes.

** LB Michael Harris was the only non-QB or uninjured player to remain inside during position drills. Looked like he was running sprints.

OFFENSE
** Bo Nix took first-team reps, handing to Boobee Whitlow in option drills and passing to the starting receivers in the few seconds of passing drills we saw. Gatewood was obviously second, handing to Kam Martin. Shivers and DJ Williams rounded things out with Cord Sandberg and Wil Appleton.

** Anthony Schwartz was absent from practice after undergoing surgery on his hand. We'll get a full update from Gus tonight. However, Eli Stove, who reportedly suffered a minor knee injury over the weekend, was a full participant. His right knee was lightly wrapped.

** Second team offensive line remained LT Alec Jackson, LG Tashawn Manning, C Nick Brahms, RG Keiondre Jones and RT Brodarious Hamm. Third team was LT Trent Kelley, LG Kamaar Bell, C Jalil Irvin, RG Kam Stutts, RT Justin Osborne.

** Gus Malzahn is bestowing a lot of trust in Kenny Dillingham, obviously, to be his go-to for the QB battle. After Dillingham worked with the QBs inside, they trotted out for passing drills while Dillingham yelled to Nix and Gatewood: "Be loud. Take charge."

DEFENSE / SPECIAL TEAMS
From @BryanMatthews

** Nick Coe was getting work at both defensive end and defensive tackle during an early non-contact drill.

** We saw a long period of punt return/coverage. The first punt returner out there was Javaris Davis followed by Christian Tutt, Matthew Hill and Ja'Varrius Johnson. The rotation then came back around to Davis. All the catches were clean except for the first one by Davis. Eli Stove and Will Hastings were also with the punt returners on the sidelines but didn't get a rep in this drill. Each player fielded three punts, returning the last one.
