We are set to speak with Luke Deal and Zion Puckett starting at approximately 12:45. Stay here for all updates...
Luke Deal
- "It's been so awesome. So refreshing." - On playing tight end in new offense.
- Deal mostly played QB in high school but also played some half back which he is seen some time at during camp. "Brings that physicality and toughness to this offense."
- "The one thing I have always known about Bo is that he is a competitor." Says Finley and Bo bring out their best in each other.
- Every year you improve mentally as a player.
- Says playing clean football was a big plus from the offense during the scrimmage on Saturday.
- He definitely feels more comfortable and more confident in this offense. Working personally with Coach Bedell.
- Each tight end brings different attributes to the position. Loves how they can bring different personnel to challenge defenses.
- Deal calls Bedell an athlete, says he got pretty high during the diving over the tackling dummies drill.
- Says wide receivers are improving and working hard. Tight ends have accepted that they are ready to take next step in the offense. "Definitely a bigger role."
Zion Puckett
- Puckett says he's been working mostly at safety this fall, a change from nickel last season.
- Focused on getting in the right position at the right time. Knowing what I need to do.
- Helps a lot having guys like Smoke Monday and Bydarrius Knighten who are veterans teaching him the position.
- Has improved on strength. Mason stresses technique.
- Expectations are not letting anything get behind the secondary.
- Says Ladarius Tennison is getting a better knowledge of the scheme.
- Knighten has jumped right in and been an impact player. Good communicator.
Annnnnnddddddd ... that is all for today. Thanks for following along.
