Auburn and Texas tangle down there Thursday.

• "They're looking for a signature win."

• "The prize on our head is significant. When you beat the teams that are ranked, that's a huge separator."

• "They're great in transition. They're committed to it."

• Notes that when he was at Tennessee, he'd attack Calipari's really good (big) Kentucky teams with frenetic transition because that was the only way they could hurt UK offensively. He's now on the other side of that equation; Auburn is the defensive powerhouse now. "I think that's we're going to start seeing because we're pretty good when we've got all five back."

• "As we get into league play, we have to up our physicality."

• He thinks Texas will be physical this weekend after having just played perhaps the SEC's most physical team in Texas A&M. They're already in that mindset.

• Says the Tigers' guards will really be in the spotlight Tuesday. "These (guards) can all get their own."

• "I just want to run the floor better and taking advantage of our creating turnovers. There aren't many teams that are great at transition defense, so I want to be better in transition offense."

• He thinks this will be a big-time challenge from an arena perspective. The Duke game was a big deal, too, but Auburn had a lot of fans at Duke. "I don't expect to have 1,000 Auburn fans (at Texas.) I'd love to!"

• "Our best defensive players ... our starting five is our best defenders. The guys who are starting and the guys who are going to close. All those guys are committed to the defensive end."
