I think letting private entities foot the bill is awesome and is yet another YUUUUUGE W from his excellency gubbner Brian Kemp to add to his already long list of W’s. Profit motive is good, and in this context if the profit motive gets out of control the state can step back in to retake control without owing those initial private investors so much as a pat on the back. Profit motive is strong but fear of ending up that far in the red on such a massive investment is probably stronger for these private entities. Shit, they might actually achieve the unprecedented accomplishment of finishing a gotdam road project on schedule and within budget while they’re at it.
