I'm not defending Thorne at all.....But watching the replay. If Thorne hands the ball off, it appeared the play would have be stopped for a loss...... So to me in stead of Thorne pulling the ball. Maybe a pre-snap time out (IF he was reading that pre-snap). I just didn't see a running lane to gain the 1 yard needed on the play. IDK and I'm not sure just how much bearing the play actually had on the outcome.
