Auburn is not taking a commitment from New Mexico State transfer CB Syrus Dumas at this time. He officially visited AU this week. AU does have a few scholarships still available and could seek out more help for the 2023 season if the right player is available.
On a personal note, I prefer not to make a big deal out of these issues that happen occasionally. I know our friend, Jeffrey, reported him as a commitment a few days ago but the kid was quoted as a commit and there were a couple of asst coaches/staffers that tweeted out emoji eyes and stuff to back it up in a way. Mistakes can happen and I hope the good folks on the internet will be forgiving the next time I make one.
