So New Mexico State cornerback transfer Syrus Dumas has said he's committed to Auburn. He was in Auburn on an unofficial visit earlier this week and plans to be here tomorrow on an official visit. He hasn't met with AU coach Hugh Freeze yet so we're going to hold off until then to report this as an official commitment.
We expect Freeze will accept his commit and everything will be good, but we're just doing this out of caution at this time.
Dumas (5-10, 170) had 40 tackles, 8 pass breakups and one interception as a senior last season. He's a former JUCO player originally from Homewood, Ala.
