Tenn defense shutdown our starters. Jones, Kelley and Baker-Mazzara don’t handle the ball well when forced to put it on the floor. Tenn manned up tight.
And Ziegler – who is the real deal – shut down Tahad in first half. That was quite a matchup.
But once again Tahad saved the day – five consecutive points in second half. Pearl needs to smell the coffee and give Tahad minutes he is wasting on out back up 3’s and 4’s. He is our second best player – period.
And Broome had a great game off a bad ankle. Not the most athletic big, but skilled moves around the basket. His wide frame protects his soft hooks and short jumpers.
Like Coach Pearl said still room for improvement. Florida, Alabama and Kentucky (all have more scoring power) are better than Tenn.
