Model College Basketball Team.
With a complete rebuild (except for Tahaad) here is my model college basketball team.
First in the frontcourt.
3 center types. Bigs as they are now called in basketball jargon. Must be 6’10” or taller. Mobile, but not necessarily a scorer. Three BIGS minimum.
Next Forwards
4 small and power forwards. Now called Wings. 6’7”, 6’8” but can range from 6’6” to 6”9”. Most athletic group that can maybe play like a big or handle the ball like a guard. Minimum 4 WINGS.
Finally Backcourt
4 guards in backcourt. Need to create special subgroup for the Point Guard. May be most important position on the team – handles the ball the most, sets up the offense. Size less important than skill at the 1. Need two bigger shooting guards. An a fourth that can go both ways a combo guard. Minimum 4 GUARDS (of which one is dependable point).
That totals 11. Thirteen scholarship players available. Then would self-scout 11, and fill 12the position where may need based on what room may need little more help. Likely a guard or wing. But could be another big. Where is more help needed.
Would hold the 13th scholarship as a spare.
Not going into skill sets for each room. Rather a broader look at what a ideal roster may look like.
What do you think!
