LMAO the most frequent "burn" (excuse) I've heard from bammers is that Auburn's team is "OLD"

The RTR fan based used to have a solid trash talking game, but it's showing signs of major atrophy of late. I guess losing a hyped 'game of the century' despite ample help from Pat Adams will do that to you.

That's right. The Barn is a cheatin' again BUYING OLDER, talented, more experienced studs that Bruce can count on to not PANIC and blow chunks in games of the century like AU No. 1 vs Tide No 2 Saturday.

Having grizzled veterans who have seen it all in big games can certainly be an edge in big games, especially road games. So is Nate Oats not smart enough to go "GET OLD" like the bammers cry foul about with Bruce's 2024-2025 team? No, he does have his share of older veterans, (Sears, Graduated; Wrightsell, Graduated; Nelson, Graduated; Youngblood, Graduated; Omoruyi, Graduated; and of course the puppies Holloway, Soph, and Philon, FR).

No, but Oats problem Saturday was that his best "old" player, Sears, who is an outstanding guard and scorer, got owned by one of our "old" players, Denver Jones (24 years old). And another top Oats player, older guy Grant Nelson, also normally a good player, blew chunks with a -20 on the coveted plus/minus metric in the Tide loss to No. 1 Auburn. Earlier, Nelson had oddly tried to sky for a slam dunk starting his leap from damn near the foul line, only to barely draw iron on a miss. Alas, his age was of no help.

And if you have a developed palate for irony, when it was absolutely crunch time, max. game and Hangar environment pressure, it was Bruce's TRUE FR Haad Pettiford who took the outlet pass from a Sears 3-point MISS, (there's that old Tide player again, whose AGE let him down), with the game 65-65, raced down court, and quickly went up for a DAGGER 3-pointer. Salty in your face stuff from a mere 19 year-old guard.

But Haad was just getting warmed up, and with the game very much in doubt still, took it upon himself to deftly drive the lane not once but twice, draining layups for the AND ONE foul shot. Heady stuff for a TrFR, but they grow 'em different in Jersey when it comes to basketball studs.

That's right, the Barn is now not only BUYING PLAYERS, but they're cheatin' by buying OLDER PLAYERS. (Fact checkers: confirm that Pettiford and Howard are TrFR, please; and that Bruce generously sent an "older" player Holloway to help Nate Oats). It's sad that bammers now discriminate against "the elderly".
