The Southeastern Conference unveiled its 10th annual Preseason All-SEC Team to highlight the upcoming season of SEC softball.
Florida, Georgia and LSU led all schools with three selections each. Tennessee and Texas A&M have two representatives apiece on the squad, while Alabama and Auburn each had one player named to the team. In a class-by-class breakdown, the 2017 team consists of six seniors, six juniors and three sophomores.
Auburn’s Kasey Cooper is making her third consecutive appearance on the preseason team. Alabama’s Alexis Osorio and LSU’s Carley Hoover both appeared on last year’s squad.
The Preseason All-SEC Softball Team is voted on by the league’s head coaches and consists of a minimum of 14 players. Each SEC head coach voted for five infielders, four outfielders, three pitchers, one catcher and one designated player/utility. No ties were broken.
