I know the "Auburn HAS to have a duel-threat QB to be successful crowd probably won't be a fan of him, but the kid finished 10th nationally in completion % (better than every QB currently in the portal) while finishing 16th nationally in pass attempts. But what I find truly impressive about the kid, is he achieved that behind an OL that finished T-129th nationally in sacks allowed on the season with 45.....Thorne may as well have been playing behind the Detroit Lions OL compared to Mendoza's OL. That tells me the kid has unreal poise and an uncanny ability to find open receivers in the short/intermediate range AND has the arm talent/touch to place the ball where it needs to while under pressure. He's also a better athlete than many of you probably realize. Maybe he's not interested in us, or maybe it's a price issue. Who knows? My top QB want is still Josh Hoover, but it's starting to look like he either won't enter the portal after all. And if he doesn't Mendoza is #1 for me.
