Florida ‘s bigs (specifically Condon and Haugh) had their way against our front line. Our constant switching our bigs on pick and rolls or doubling the ball crippled our help defense and created too open wide open looks.
CBM and Denver had ther worst games this year. When March madness rolls around it’s the teams that have stellar guard play that will typically advance. This is a needed wake up to our backcourt.
Broome was not at his best yet still ended up with 18/11 and a good number of assists. His explosiveness was missing but I believe if you roll back to beginning of the game, Broome twisted his leg during an awkward spin and just tried to play thru it with very mixed results. He had no lift and was erratic with is shot near the rim.
Let’s not forget that UF coach is one of the few coaches that understand the inner workings of Bruce and his staff in how they like to attack on both offense and defense. Let’s anticipate that our coaching staff will learn from this. If not sweet 16 is probably AU ceiling.
