BP/staff called a fantastic game. Great game plan. The only thing they didn't count on was that ALL 3 of our shooters would go cold on the same night. Hadn't happened all year. The plan was to shut down UF's inside game which killed us last time, and we did. Big time. They knew Clayton was gonna get his. But the coaches rightly planned on close to 35+ points from Haad, Denver, and Kelly, and all we got was 25. 8 of which were from the line. The first half showed how well we game planned for them. But we expended TONS on energy that first half, and that apparently wore us down.

Second half UF's main adjustment was to just apply tons more pressure to our guards, and it worked. We weren't able to even get the ball to Broome due to that much pressure. We were clearly gassed from about 10 min left. Broome was clearly hurting from multiple injuries, and was a non factor during most of the second half. With zero scoring from the guards, we just had no energy left to make that last push.

But the BS about a shitty coaching job by BP is just way wrong. His plan was working, and did work the first half. But again, nobody thought all three guards would shit the bed at the same time. No plan that we could have come up was gonna work under that scenario.

Overall, what BP did with this collection of players this year was unreal. Bunch of 2nd tier players except for Broome and Haad that he got to play as a TEAM. We were, by far, the least pure talented team in the final four. And we played the last month with Broome crippled up, and CBM hurt, a starting center that can't score, and no point guard. And BP took that to an SEC Championship, and a Final Four. He did more with less, than anyone. That's coaching greatness by any measure. Great season. Period.

Next year, I'd really like to see us get back to more of a big guard/small forward centric team. Like to see us get 3 guys that love to dribble drive. We just have to attack the basket more next year. We didn't get anywhere near enough foul shots as most of our opponents. Get a solid big rebounder, 3 drivers with one of them being a dead eye shooter. Add in Haad, and that's a good team. But we need to be able to attack the rim, and have CONSISTENT 3 point shooting, night in and night out.
