As a teenager my Uncle managed a small town motel that the wrestlers stayed in. One Summer I worked there. The wrestlers I met were very nice guys. I would either check them in or help them unload their stuff into their rooms. They were the best tippers.
I remember Mario Galento and Greg Peterson.
One time I was helping Mario unload his trunk and I saw a small set of pink barbells. I ask him about them. He said they were for his 6 year old daughter.
In the late seventies I moved back to my hometown. I had friends visit from a previous place. I would take them, as a joke, to our local wresstling place. I told them to ignore the wresstlers and just watch the crowd. Actually got to see Andre The Giant. When he entered the wring he stepped over the ropes, not in between them.
